Proclaiming the Truth of God's Word

I've been busy finishing up some banners and displays for our church. We are trying to make our mission statement a larger focus of our decision making (based first on the Word of God). The banners show the 4 verbs, our actions inspired by God's love for us.

Good Friday Banner

This is a quilted banner that originally was a banner back for the national convention of Lutheran Womens Missionary League. The hands were traced from ladies in our local organization. When I took the banner apart to remove the league specification, I decided to make it into 2 banners. This spring I finally got the inspiration to complete it by adding the border and statement "The hands that nailed are the hands redeemed". I am so grateful for the gift of forgiveness given me by my loving Lord Jesus. To Him alone be the glory.

Easter Celebration

As viewed by the congregation.

I had been intrigued by the background fabric of these banners when they caught my eye in the store (in my favorite area, clearance). It is an embossed felt...not the fuzzy, limp stuff of years ago. So I bought it... and it sat for 3 years until this spring.

Letters are white satin and s shimmery sheer with gold lame for butterflies and crown. The crown of thorns are actually ivy branches...I'm blessed not to have to deal with the thorns. Christ took care of that! and so much more...
