Give Thanks Always

Welcome to Practical Scrappers -"Scrapping our Stash" blog hop. You should have arrive here from Jennifer's fun Halloween layout. If you just stumbled on to this you might want to go back to the start at practicalscrappers.bloghop.com    so that you don't miss any of the great fall papercrafts.       I was so excited to do this month's blog hop. I love autumn and Thanksgiving...probably my favorite holiday. My inspiration began with finding this frame at a garage sale... not that I was looking for it but it just jumped out at me.  I knew it would be perfect for what I wanted to make for our home.
I had such fun making these flowers. Before I even cut them out, I did some tone on tone stamping. Afterwards, I did do some specific shading, giving the petals some extra depth.
Corn meal and coffee grounds make great centers (sprayed before use with a spray lacquer I had on hand to prevent bugs). A real branch for the stem and butterfly body completed the floral accents.  You can also see where I scuffed up the  frame more. When I saw it at the garage sale, I loved the color, but it was damaged.  That made for a lower price  :-) and I loved the burnt orange color underneath, a perfect color accent.

I especially liked that I found background paper with the 23rd Psalm on it... a reminder for me that Jesus, our Good Shepherd is the giver of all good gifts.
In all things, give thanks! May you feel the blessings of the Lord during this special season and all year long.
