Welcome to the "Scrapping your Stash" blog hop. You should have started at Practical Scrappers http://practicalscrappers.blogspot.com and arrived here from Marcia's blog. I hope this will be a great break and and give your scrapping a boost this wonderful, long weekend.
I love my daughter. That being said, I also admire her. She is a great artist and that is mostly self taught. About a 2 weeks ago she posted a decorative piece "Start each day with a grateful heart". It inspired me because I am primarily a quilter. She did a beautiful job with her pinwheel background and it's done in beautiful, bold colors I love. (You can find it here http://scrappingwithchristine.blogspot.com/2014/08/creative-blog-hop.html and also on her Aug 17 post on that same blog). Therefore, I "Give Thanks" for the inspiration and for the wonderful daughter (wife, mother, friend and designer) that she is. And this is dedicated to her...
Here's another view. Again, I add the bow later but this shows the twine. I wrapped it around a pencil and thinner dowel, dipped it in liquid starch and let it dry.
This shows a bit better that the letters are raised with pop dots (actually the foam left over as I needed thin strips... that's practical scrapping) to stand off the base a bit, giving extra dimension.
